If you know any piece of art well, it will be there for you when you need to understand some feeling, some day; the occasion comes when you stand, spiritually, where the poet stood, and if the poem is already soaked into your bones, it rise to point and shape your feelings. Somehow, passing through that naïve jovent I had been, the words of Guilhem-Arnaut Montanier had reached forward two centuries, into Raimbaut's sorrow for Laprada, and shaped it to something he could bear to make a part of himself.
So, what art have you incorporated into your bones?
I have to think more about other art forms but for music, I had those immediately available. I would have to say that the following are in my bones and are available to help me explain things to myself:
- Sarah McLachlan
- Gaia Consort
- Moody Blues
- Pat Benatar
