Responses to Oracle and its consultants

I need to have a different response to dealing with Oracle. Having the anger come out in a variety of ways is not good. A friend of mine, Maven, last night at the Grind made a good point. He has a similar viewpoint on dealing with MS software. He figures that it gives him more opportunities for job security. If you succeed in using the software, you've really done something impressive.

I think that one of my sources of anger is that people keep talking about how it's to be expected that a contract programmer is going to do a poor job. I take exception to that since I was a contract programmer/consultant for eighteen years. I wrote code such that when people went looking at my code after I left, it should be good enough that they'd want to hire me back for the next job...

So, I'm going to come up with a better response. In the meantime, I get to go hear Ursala K. Le Guin talk at Elliot Bay books. That should be calming in itself.
(Then to a friend's b-day party, and then working at the Men's party at the Club. Busy night.)
