I need to remember to find delight in the everyday. If I can remember to do it, it's really not that hard. Take the hand for example or friction or water. All of these are miraculous but they form such a constant part of my world that I can forget how delightful they can be to play with. It's easy to find wonder and delight in things such as sunsets, mountains, and ferrets. But that's sort of like playing freak the mundanes with outlandishness. It's so much more fun and much harder to dismiss if you can freak the mundanes with elements of their everyday lives. If you can do it correctly, when they look at whatever it was, they'll remember. Finding wonder and delight in my everyday elements keeps the grayfaces away from me too. I'm really quite happy to work in a job where I can usually get up and go outside for a while if I need to breath fresh air.
