So, the Civ Day went rather well today, even if one of the players had to stay home sick. It went pretty quickly at about ten hours. This included pauses for various breaks and even a stop, albeit brief, for dinner. Yum! Chicken Peanut Stew. I think having most of the people know what they're doing really helped and our new player picked it up pretty quick.
I was pretty pleased with how I played, mostly. I was in despair for a little bit during the midgame, when I was reduced to two cities for a third time in a short period due to calamities. But then I came in second. I was rather surprised…
We were talking some more about Advanced Civilization: The Expansion Project and the difficulty in making counters. anansi133 suggested mini poker chip but said they were pretty expensive. I'm guessing they must've gone down in price since he last looked since I found them here for $2.49 / 100.
We're looking at trying to do this again in three months. Here's hoping we can do it since I've planned such things before and they've gotten lost.
In conclusion, much fun was had and we need to write down "The New Testament as a d20 game".
P.S. As I was cleaning up afterwards, I found a backpack that has "Classic Escapes" on the front panel. I'm assuming that someone from the Civ game left it here. Does anyone want to claim it?
