Fighting back

I think I might want to re-read the Miles Vorkosigan saga. It might be comforting.
I've been thinking of the following quote from Mirror Dance (p. 717 of the omnibus Miles Errant):
"I think I'll always love you, some. But living with you full-time would drive me crazy. You are the most incredibly domineering person I think I've ever met."

"You're supposed to fight back", he explained. "I rely on my partner fighting back. Otherwise, I couldn't relax and be myself."

I'd say that this quote is one of the (or possibly just "the") reason behind the reasons that cindygerb and I aren't together anymore.

Addendum to last post

I want to be clear that I'm not saying that it was anyone's fault.
Cindy changed in a way that was incompatible with who I was. I couldn't change in a fashion that could cope with how she had changed.

Yes, I realize that you'll see this first. Cope.
