Thinking all the time...

The idle state for my brain involves thinking about whatever. Currently my brain is cycling around the song I mention in the Music line, this post, my current book, what I need to do this evening, and the apple tree out the window. I know that some of this is due to the ADD but even well medicated and in a resting state, I'm thinking about something. I mean, what else would my brain do if I'm not thinking. I don't understand the people that tell me that the just don't think unless they are actively doing so...

Does this make any sense to anyone other than me? Can anyone explain to me the concept of "not-thinking"?
