Important Court Cases

So, there have been some good/important court cases decided recently. (this was going to contain more but I want to post this separately...)

The first and more important one I heard from regyt. She mentions that in U.S. v. Booker that the Federal Sentencing Guidelines are advisory rather than mandatory. I'm very interested in reading her analysis once she has a chance to read the full opinions of the Court.
There is some analysis at the FAMM website and a discussion of mandatory minimums vs. federal sentencing guidelines. regyt, I'd love your opinions on what they say there.

Another one is from yendi where the creationism stickers for textbooks have been ruled unconstitutional. I can't resist linking to these additional textbook disclaimers again.
