In reference to this entry about not calling 911 for someone if they say not to, I am very amused at the number of people that disagreed with me. I will have to yield that I've never been in a situation where someone was having a heart attack and so I have no experience of what it would be like or what their mental state would be. It's possible that I would decide they weren't in a state where they could decide such things. Even more likely, I would excuse myself and call, so they didn't have a chance to tell me not to call. It's even possible that folks' comments on this might've changed what I'd do.
